Drunk driving: still dangerous the next morning

Most people in Bridgeport don't have a problem with people drinking alcohol, but there certainly is a problem when someone gets behind the wheel while drunk. Not only is it dangerous for the drunk driver, but he or she is exposing everyone on the road to the risk of a serious accident, catastrophic injury and death. It makes sense that driving while intoxicated is against the law: it is incredibly dangerous.

Recent victims of car accidents may be eligible for compensation

Connecticut residents know that victims of car accidents may be eligible for personal injury or wrongful claims if the accident was not their fault. After a recent area crash, one person was killed and two others were injured. Car accidents can have serious consequences, as illustrated by this tragic and seemingly unnecessary accident.

Traffic law report indicates Connecticut has room to improve

A new report about states and their traffic laws reveals that Connecticut may not be as well off as some lawmakers would think. Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety is the group responsible for the report, which gave Connecticut a "yellow" rating (on a green/yellow/red rating system) because the state does not require passengers in the back seats to wear a seatbelt, nor does the state require motorcycle riders to wear helmets.

Pedestrian thrown more than 100 feet after being hit by car

New Milford was the scene of a serious pedestrian accident earlier this week when a pedestrian was struck by a car traveling along Route 7. The early evening accident happened just after 5 p.m., but it is unknown just how dark it was. Witnesses have reported that drivers often speed on Route 7, which may have been the cause of this accident. Although it is unclear if the pedestrian was seriously injured, these kinds of accidents could mean serious disabilities, long-term injuries or death.

Wrongful death suit could follow Connecticut accident

For many young people, college is an important milestone. It often marks the first steps in preparing for the future as an independent adult. Recently in Connecticut, life was tragically cut short for one young woman after she became the victim of a horrible accident. As her family struggles to come to terms with their untimely loss, they may also be considering a wrongful death claim.
