Many victims suffer when a car strikes a pedestrian. A particularly appalling pedestrian accident occurred in Hamden, Connecticut on July 11 when a woman with a disability suffered serious injuries in an alleged hit-and-run accident.

Most of the time, vehicles and pedestrians do not cross paths in a negative way and everyone gets to where they're going without incident. Sometimes accidents happen when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle. This was the case for a woman in Connecticut who was struck and killed by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident.
A 54-year-old man from Essex was sentenced on June 30 to four years in prison for drunk driving in the Aug. 18, 2010 death of a motorcyclist that he hit in Hartford. The defendant also faces civil lawsuits stemming from the auto accident.
According to a witness, a car that came out of nowhere struck and killed a 49-year-old Wallingford man who was crossing a road in New Haven on June 24. The motorist fled from the scene of the accident.
