Connecticut woman killed in pedestrian accident

As traffic rushes by on a busy street, pedestrians walk alongside on sidewalks on to their destinations. Most of the time, vehicles and pedestrians do not cross paths in a negative way and everyone gets to where they're going without incident. Sometimes accidents happen when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle. This was the case for a woman in Connecticut who was struck and killed by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident.

The accident occurred on Route 30 in Vernon. Exact details of the accident are currently under investigation, but from what authorities and witnesses could gather, the car appeared to traveling north on Route 30 when the woman was struck. Authorities noted that the driver is cooperating with authorities. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since many details about the fatal pedestrian accident have not been released, it is unclear exactly what happened on the day of the accident. Unknown facts include the speed of the driver, if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident or any other important details. After the investigation, such details could shed some light on whether or not the driver of the vehicle was responsible for the woman's death.

Whether or not the driver is at fault for the pedestrian accident, it is a tragedy that a woman lost her life. Incidents such as this are a stark reminder that accidents can happen in an instant. Some of these accidents can be fatal. The best way to avoid these type of accidents is for both driver and pedestrian to be hyper-aware of their surroundings in order to protect themselves and others around them.
