Connecticut pedestrian accident leaves victim hospitalized

Connecticut pedestrians are in close proximity to moving motor vehicles on a daily basis. Whether one is walking on a sidewalk, getting into a parked car on the street or crossing the street, pedestrians put a lot of trust in drivers. These individuals hope motorists are paying attention, following the laws, and putting pedestrian safety first. Tragically, though, this is not always the case.

A recent accident in Milford shows just how harmful these accidents can be for unsuspecting pedestrians. There, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while trying to enter another vehicle. The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car fled the scene. The police are still searching for that driver.

The victim in this case, like others who have been injured in a pedestrian accident, will likely have a long road to recovery. Extensive medical care may be necessary, with ongoing rehabilitation becoming a critical aspect of their recovery. Some victims of these types of wrecks require long-term care, while others suffer permanent disability. In addition to the pain and suffering that may be experienced, these victims may face financial hardship in the form of medical expenses and lost wages.

One way for these victims to recover compensation for their damages is to file a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent driver who harmed them. Though a successful claim cannot guarantee one will regain his or her health, it may lead to a monetary award and a sense of justice. Then, a victim can focus on reclaiming his or her health instead of worrying about how to pay for it.
