Connecticut pedestrians are in close proximity to moving motor vehicles on a daily basis. Whether one is walking on a sidewalk, getting into a parked car on the street or crossing the street, pedestrians put a lot of trust in drivers. These individuals hope motorists are paying attention, following the laws, and putting pedestrian safety first. Tragically, though, this is not always the case.
A recent accident in Milford shows just how harmful these accidents can be for unsuspecting pedestrians. There, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while trying to enter another vehicle. The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car fled the scene. The police are still searching for that driver.
The victim in this case, like others who have been injured in a pedestrian accident, will likely have a long road to recovery.
