Millions Recovered For Injured People

Pedestrian accident caused by drunk driver injures mother, child

Connecticut roads have become increasingly dangerous for drivers and especially for pedestrians. With the number of drivers who are distracted, reckless and engage in risky behaviors behind the wheel, there are many accidents that would otherwise not happen if the driver was taking caution. An issue that remains problematic in this generation but has largely been pushed to the side with the other, above-mentioned dangers on the road is an accident caused by a drunk driver. Drivers who get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs pose a major threat. This is worse when they hit a pedestrian and a child.

A crash sent a woman and her two-year-old toddler to the hospital with serious injuries. The accident happened in the afternoon as the mother pushed the child in a stroller. After the crash, the car fled. Witnesses who saw what happened gave descriptions to law enforcement and the driver was found a short while after the incident. Upon investigation, police found the 27-year-old male driver to exhibit signs of being under the influence. He was arrested on multiple offenses including DUI, vehicular assault, evasion and more.

The combination of a pedestrian and a drunk driver is a bad one. After a vehicle hits a pedestrian, there is a likelihood that there will be significant injuries and major medical costs to treat them. This is exponentially worse when there is a small child involved. There can be long-term damage including paralysis, head injuries, broken bones, emotional aftereffects and other problems. People who have suffered injuries or lost a loved one because of a drunk driver hitting a pedestrian in an auto accident must remember that they have the right to seek compensation in a legal filing even as the driver is dealing with criminal charges related to the accident.

A mother who was pushing her small child in a stroller was hit by an alleged drunk driver. Both she and the toddler were said to have suffered serious injuries as the driver fled. He was later found. As the investigation continues, the woman and her family must ensure they are protected for the future by discussing a potential lawsuit with a law firm experienced in helping clients after pedestrian drunk driving accidents.
