Millions Recovered For Injured People

Fatal hit-and-run accident kills motorcyclist

There are many motorcyclists on the road in Connecticut. For the safety of drivers of conventional vehicles and motorcycles, it is imperative that they share the road and keep a close eye on one another. Accidents between a car or truck and a motorcycle can lead to severe injuries for the motorcyclist. When the driver flees the scene, it goes from a serious accident to a deadly accident. A rider who might have recovered had there been immediate care could die, making it a fatal accident.

A motorcyclist was killed when he was hit by a vehicle that quickly fled the scene. The accident happened in the evening at around 10 p.m. The rider, age 46, was on a 2001 Honda motorcycle. As he reached the intersection of the road, a Nissan Maxima went into his path. The rider skidded to try and avoid an accident. There was a stop sign at the intersection. The motorcycle and the car collided. The investigation is trying to determine if the Maxima ran the stop sign or not. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle, was taken to the hospital and declared dead. The search for the vehicle is ongoing.

A motorcyclist can suffer from far more severe injuries that a person who was in a car when there is an accident. The lack of protection offered by a motorcycle lends itself to spinal cord injuries, brain trauma, broken bones and more. In many instances, the injuries are so severe that there is a fatality. For the family, an unexpected fatality brings with it a litany of problems that can cost them personally and financially.

A wrongful death filing can be useful in recovering compensation for those problems. Through a wrongful death suit, the survivors of the deceased can seek financial recovery for medical expenses, loss of income, loss of consortium and more. While no amount of money can bring back a loved one lost, it can go a long way to helping a victim's survivors cope financially during a difficult time.
