Driver arrested after fleeing fatal pedestrian accident

Connecticut pedestrians are in a constant state of vulnerability to pedestrian accidents. Motor vehicles are frequently operated recklessly, negligently and by drivers who are under the influence or are distracted. Since these issues are prevalent, it is not unusual for there to be a pedestrian who is hit by a motor vehicle. Since pedestrians do not have protection when they are hit, it can lead be fatal. When this happens, victims or their family should seek compensation.

For example, a 24-year-old man was arrested after hitting and killing a 67-year-old pedestrian and driving off. The driver of the black Mercedes was found after witnesses described the vehicle and gave a photo.

When he was questioned, law enforcement stated that he made a false statement that the vehicle was stolen. But, there was surveillance video of the man leaving the vehicle. He faces numerous charges, including driving an unregistered vehicle, making false statements and charges related to the fatal pedestrian accident.

Any pedestrian accident will likely result in injuries, sometimes, so seriously injured that it will lead to death. Regardless of the outcome of a pedestrian crash, drivers are expected to remain at the scene, render aid and call for help. Some choose not to do so and flee. This only serves to make matters worse.

For pedestrians who are hit and survive, they can have broken bones, back injuries, head injuries and damage that can last for many years, if not forever. It can prevent them from working and taking part in the activities they enjoy with family and friends. When there is a fatality, the family will need to consider the future without their loved one. For anyone who loses a loved one as occurred in this case or had injuries in pedestrian accidents, knowing the necessary steps to file a lawsuit is imperative.
