Police in Seymour responded to two accidents on the same road, close to the same time, according to a report released on April 5. It’s wise to be conscious of multiple incidents like these because they may be a sign of unusually hazardous conditions for area drivers.
In both of these cases, the motor vehicle crashes happened on Derby Avenue. The crashes happened within 40 minutes of each other, and one of the crashes did have victims with injuries.
In the first crash, a driver had been acting erratically before colliding with traffic signs, bushes and other items. The driver was eventually arrested for a DUI.
The police stated that the second crash happened when there was a collision involving a motorcycle. The driver and passenger involved in that wreck were both injured and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
An updated report about the motorcycle collision indicates that the 27-year-old man driving the motorcycle was killed. The passenger riding with him suffered severe injuries but was expected to survive.
These two accidents show just how dangerous it can be on the roads. Hazards abound, even for safe drivers. After all, you never know when someone else on the road is distracted or somehow impaired. Any accident involving a motor vehicle has the potential to be serious or fatal.
