Car crashes can be very serious, especially when there are pedestrians involved. Take for example this case in which three people were injured after a car collided with a group of pedestrians.
The car crash, which happened in Stamford, reportedly took place when a vehicle left the roadway and collided with three people who were standing in a front yard at around 12:51 a.m. The pedestrians all had to be taken to Stamford Hospital, and two of them were in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and is also a local resident. The police reported that speed may have been a factor in the crash, but they are still working on the incident.
Is there anything you can do to avoid a pedestrian accident?
If you plan to walk somewhere, make sure you pay attention to what’s happening around you. Avoid looking at a phone or listening to music, because those distractions could result in an accident.
As a pedestrian, you should not have to worry about getting hit by a vehicle while you’re in your own yard. Drivers have a responsibility to remain on the roads and to follow the rules of the roads. If they cause harm to you or those you know, then it is possible that you could file a claim for compensation to recover your financial losses.
If you and those you love have been impacted by a driver who was distracted, intoxicated or just made a mistake that resulted in them hitting you, it’s your right to make sure they’re held accountable for their actions.
