Woman dies while walking dog in hit-and-run crash in Fairfield

When someone is killed as a result of another person's actions, it's important that they get justice. Their families should be able to seek compensation and support for what they've been through as well.

That's why this news is so positive for a family in Fairfield. According to a July 8 report, a man from Easton has been charged for being involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian deceased on the Fourth of July. The man, 22, left the scene of the fatal crash in which the woman, from Pennsylvania, passed away while visiting Fairfield. The 32-year-old woman died after the vehicle hit her and fled. She was walking her dog at the time.

Two drivers witnessed her in the roadway and called the police. They discovered the woman had passed away and immediately began searching for the driver who struck her. After reviewing camera footage and tips from the public, taking debris to a local dealership to identify it and searching for the vehicle, the authorities located the 22-year-old man. He was arrested and released after he posted $150,000 in bond. He will be arraigned on July 15, but he is not allowed to drive any kind of vehicle before that date.

In a situation like this, it can initially be devastating to a family to see that someone would leave the scene of a serious crash. Fortunately, the police are often able to find the at-fault driver and hold them accountable. If someone you love is hit and killed, you may be able to pursue a claim against the at-fault driver as well.
