Pedestrian accidents can be fatal and complicated


Pedestrian accidents have devastating effects and can be deadly. Connecticut suffered 36 car-versus-fatalities in 2012, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Drunk driver suspected in jogger fatality


Impaired driving is a fatal threat to pedestrians. In Connecticut and throughout the United States, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, 48 percent of all pedestrian fatalities involved a drunk driver or pedestrian in 2011. Connecticut suffered 36 pedestrian fatalities by all causes in 2012, according to the NHTSA. The NHTSA also found that drunk driving accidents caused 85 deaths in the state for that year.

Connecticut woman killed in pedestrian accident


As traffic rushes by on a busy street, pedestrians walk alongside on sidewalks on to their destinations. Most of the time, vehicles and pedestrians do not cross paths in a negative way and everyone gets to where they're going without incident. Sometimes accidents happen when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle. This was the case for a woman in Connecticut who was struck and killed by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident.

Wallingford pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident


According to a witness, a car that came out of nowhere struck and killed a 49-year-old Wallingford man who was crossing a road in New Haven on June 24. The motorist fled from the scene of the accident.
